Friends of the Earth Isle of Man requests research
New figures suggest air pollution levels in Douglas could be as high as in some English city centres.
Research by the UK Labour Party claims almost two thirds of young people are exposed to levels of nitrogen dioxide considered harmful to health.
The Manx government stopped testing its air quality in 2009.
However, independent studies carried out earlier this year appear to show levels at the Quarterbridge were on par with those found in parts of central London.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has disputed the findings.
Speaking earlier this month, Environment Minister Geoffrey Boot said measures were in place to tackle emissions:
