Tensions have escalated between the secretive state and the USA
The Manx government has joined Europe and the western world in imposing fresh sanctions on North Korea.
An updated list of economic penalties has been published by Treasury, in line with recent EU orders on asset freezing.
Eleven individuals linked to banks, government bodies and procurement agencies in the secretive state are named.
A number of companies known to be dealing in Pyongyang - some of which are thought to be involved with chemical and nuclear weapons - are also blacklisted.
The sanctions place a legal duty on Manx financial institutions to check their records for any dealings with those mentioned in the sanctions lists, and immediately suspend business with them if matches are found.
