Chief Minister won't be swayed by UK MP visit
The Chief Minister says he's 'pleased' to be hosting two UK MPs pushing for financial reform in the Island next week.
Dame Maragret Hodge and Andrew Mitchell unsuccessfully tried to pass legislation forcing the Island to change its rules on beneficial ownership in May.
They were invited here by Howard Quayle, who is trying to prove 'how the Isle of Man serves as a responsible member of the global community' against tax evasion, money laundering and corruption.
Dame Margaret and Mr Mitchell will meet senior ministers and visit financial regulators on Monday.
The pair have said they want to 'persuade' the Crown Dependencies to introduce public beneficial ownership registers.
Mr Quayle says he will 'listen to their views' - but reiterated the Island already has 'one of the most efficient and effective' regimes against financial crime in the world.
