Petition being delivered to Westminster today
The Island's progressive stance on mixed-gender civil partnerships is putting pressure on the UK government.
So says the Equal Civil Partnerships Campaign which is delivering a petition to Westminster today (17 Nov), demanding the extension of civil partnerships to mixed-gender couples.
Containing more than 70,000 signatures, the document will be passed to Education Secretary and Minister for Women and Equalities Justine Greening.
Mixed-gender civil partnerships are legal in the Isle of Man, yet certificates given here are not recognised in the UK.
