
Head of the Children's Centre anticipates many young people will require its support
The Head of the Children's Centre says Island charities are going to become 'needed and neccessary' following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Joff Whitten anticipates many children will require the support of the charity after long periods of isolation from school and friends.
The Children's Centre has been raising money this week by taking part in the 2.6 Challenge, a fundraising event created by the organisers of the London and Manchester marathons.
Staff are undertaking a range of challenges such as a 26-mile bike ride, a 2.6km run, and 26 keepy-uppies, in a bid to raise £1,000 for the organisation.
Mr Whitten spoke to Manx Radio about where they are up to on that target, and the importance of every charity's fundraising efforts during this time:
