Scammers 'join on' to Facebook competition
Manx holiday cottage firm Island Escapes is warning of scammers taking advantage of a competition it's running on social media.
Manx Radio received reports of an account pretending to be the company and duping residents out of money via Facebook Messenger.
In a statement, Island Escapes says its blocked the offending account from posting on its page but people may still receive a message from it.
It adds it will never ask for bank details, and anyone who has been scammed is urged to contact their bank.
