Locals should not be penalised, says OFT
A ban on card surcharges comes into effect in the Island today (Saturday).
Tynwald last month agreed to follow the UK and make it illegal for traders to apply surcharges for payments by credit card and debit card.
Office of Fair Trading chairman Martyn Perkins says it’s unfair for an extra percentage charge to be applied and Islanders should not be disadvantaged compared to their UK counterparts.
