Group hopes to be allowed back into hostel soon
Five Islanders on holiday in Barcelona have spoken of their relief after narrowly avoiding the scene of yesterday’s terror attack.
Fourteen people were killed and 100 others injured when a van drove into crowds on Las Ramblas.
Hours later, a car ploughed into people in the town of Cambrils, about 80 miles away.
The travelling party, aged 18, 19 and 20, are friends who live in Eairy Dam and Foxdale and are staying at a hostel just off Las Ramblas.
One of them, 18 year-old Luis Novo-Smith, hopes they can return to their accommodation soon before continuing their journey.
