The Isle of Man is set to make a £90K contribution to a campaign to rid the world of Polio.
It's to provide £30,000 a year for the next three years to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.
The money from the International Development Committee of the Council of Ministers will go to the Rotary Club of Douglas and onwards to Rotary International, which is part of a public-private partnership involving national governments.
This is spearheaded by the World Health Organization, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and UNICEF.
Chairman of the Committee, Phil Gawne MHK, says whilst he is aware that providing overseas aid is seen as controversial by some when budgets at home are being widely cut, the chance to help eradicate the disease serves to reinforce the life-changing impact of international support.
