MHK praises Port Erin area as good example of change working
The Isle of Man may look at making a 'switch' in the fishing gear it permits in Manx waters to reduce how much carbon gets released.
That's according to MHK Michelle Haywood who is a political member of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
She says the Island has the structure to take 'best advantage' of blue carbon which can be captured in the sea.
Dr Haywood, who is a marine biologist and diver, says closing off an area in Port Erin has proved making change works:
