Emergency planning officer discusses preparing for weather events
Government's emergency planning officer says the Island has to plan for things it hopes will never happen.
Jane Kelly, who also leads the Civil Defence team, insists it's necessary to invest in equipment for extreme weather events, even though some have a shelf life and become obsolete without being used.
Her comments come following last week's snow day, which saw schools, buses and the Island's airport disrupted by wintry conditions.
