CALM welcomes successful passage of bill
Abortion Reform has been a long time coming - but the Isle of Man is now making up for lost time.
That's the view of CALM, the Campaign for Abortion Law Modernisation.
The group have had a high-profile presence as the Island's Abortion Law Reform Bill went through the legislative process.
Yesterday, (Tues 6th) it passed its final stage in the Legislative Council and will now be signed in Tynwald before going to the Lieutenant Governor for Royal Assent.
Speaking on Mandate this morning, spokeswoman Stephanie Kelsey said the Island would now be ahead of many other jurisdictions.
