Tynwald needs friends, claims President
With Brexit and the UK's general election on the horizon, the President of Tynwald believes the Island 'needs friends'.
Steve Rodan insists that major events happening in the wider world do have an impact in the Isle of Man, so good relationships with other world governments must be made.
He told Manx Radio many still stereotype the Island as a 'dodgy tax haven' - something Manx politicians need to challenge constantly.
Mr Rodan added there's a lot to be gained from developing contacts across the globe:

Campaigners against offshore windfarm proposals hit out at 'undemocratic' process
Visitors told to prepare for new ETA rules
Crews respond to shed fire in Greeba
Is 'inter-generational home sharing' the solution to the loneliness epidemic and housing crisis?
'Writing under pressure is a skill I certainly have now', says Manx Bard
