World Heritage status call for vintage transport
It’s not just the Island’s population that’s ageing – our tourists are too, and we need to attract younger visitors.
That’s just one of the messages in a new tourism strategy unveiled this week to guide the industry through the next five years.
The Destination Management Plan says the Island needs things like a holiday family centre, a TT attraction, and World Heritage status for our vintage transport system.
Robin Bischert, the Department of Economic Development’s director for the visitor economy, says we also need a rethink of who we’re marketing the Island to:
