Covid certificates issued by Manx government not accepted
A couple from the Isle of Man have been left with a €3,000 bill after being forced into quarantine in Malta.
Eliana Firmino, and her partner Omar, travelled to the country to visit family but were told their Covid-19 vaccination certificates wouldn't be recognised by the Maltese Government.
The manager of the Sailsbury Street Nursing Home in Douglas told Manx Radio she's contacted the government here for help:
Government says anyone travelling outside the UK needs to 'fully understand' the entry requirements of the country they are visiting as there is a risk that letters may not be accepted.
Earlier this month it said work to enable the NHS Covid Pass scheme for Isle of Man residents is 'progressing'.
