
The chief minister, the president of Tynwald and the lieutenant governor have all sent messages to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Clare Christian; "It was with great pleasure that we welcomed the announcement of the birth of the royal couple’s first child.
"We extend to their Royal Highnesses our warmest congratulations and wish them and their families every happiness at this time of great joy and cause for celebration."
Adam Wood; "On behalf of the people of the Isle of Man I am pleased to send our warmest congratulations on the joyous occasion of the birth of your son".
Meanwhile, the Department of Health has revealed four babies - one boy and three girls - were born yesterday, sharing their date of birth with the future king and Lord of Mann.
To mark the occasion the department will be presenting the four with a Manx tartan blanket, embroidered with the date of their birth.
