Claim licence fee is poor deal for Island
It's been claimed the BBC is underfunding the Isle of Man by around £1 million a year.
Malew and Santon MHK Graham Cregeen told Tynwald Islanders do not receive fair treatment for what they contribute via the licence fee.
Mr Cregeen asked what government is doing to ensure television licences remain free for over-75s and suggested money should be ringfenced until a deal's agreed.
People aged 75 and over will have to pay for their TV licences from September, although all pensioners who receive income support will still be eligible for help.
Minister for Policy and Reform John Shimmin said the Cabinet Office was in talks with the BBC on extending the concession to the Isle of Man.
He told Tynwald the Manx government signalled an end to free licences in the 2015 Budget - before the UK government pledged to keep them:
