Fifth rise in a row
Unemployment on the Island has risen for the fifth month in a row.
At the end of January, 873 people were looking for jobs – 607 men and 266 women.
The latest statistics from the Treasury show of those, well over a quarter have been unemployed for longer than six months.
Also included are the number of vacancies at the jobcentre at the end of the month, which show 25 agriculture, forestry and fishing workers are chasing just a single job.
