Hector Duff only remaining Normandy veteran here at 99 years old
Today marks 75 years since the D-Day landings at Normandy.
A service of remembrance to honour those Manxmen who stormed the beaches in France was held on Douglas' North Quay this morning.
The Island's only remaining Normandy veteran is 99-year-old Hector Duff, who survived the landings, as well as campaigns in Italy and North Africa.

He is the last of a generation who in his own words, saw things that 'no pen in the world could write.'
Ahead of the service, Aaron Ibanez went along to his home in Onchan:
The chief minister has paid tribute on Twitter:
It is a privilege to pay tribute to the bravery of those who took part in the D-Day landings 75 years ago today, and to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the Second World War. #DDay #DDay75 https://t.co/chSyKJ13aw
