Manx Bat Group seek volunteers
An Island-wide citizen-science project is being launched this summer.
It's hoped "Bat Search" will go on to provide data to form a comprehensive map of bat species and numbers around the Island.
The project has been funded by a grant awarded to the Manx Bat Group by the Manx Lottery Trust.
Chair of Group, Kevin Wells, says it's hoped volunteers from around the Island will get involved, using state-of-the-art bat detectors which they've been able to purchase.
It's planned to repeat the surveys in coming years in order to form a picture of any trends in bat numbers on the Island.
If you want to get involved with the surveys please leave your name and contact details with the Manx Bat Group batsearch@manxbatgroup.org or phone the Bat Helpline tel 366 177.
