John triumphs at Welsh awards
A star who made his home in the Isle of Man has been honoured with a major accolade.
John Rhys-Davies was given the Special Award for Outstanding Contribution to Film and Television at last night's BAFTA Cymru Awards.
The Indiana Jones actor, 73, was born in Wales and moved to the Isle of Man some years after finding fame.
He is a regular at the annual Isle of Man Film Festival, and became a more well-known face locally last year campaigning to bring the Brexit vote to Islanders.
John told last night's audience in Cardiff the Manx could learn from the effect filming Lord of the Rings had on New Zealand's economy:
