Island's tourism sector going from 'strength to strength'

350,000+ visitors travel in 2025

More than 350,000 tourists visited the Island last year with claims that the average spend per head was £789.

Visit Isle of Man has reported a 6.9 percent increase in visitor numbers from 2024.

Statistics show 352,301 people travelled here - 26,357 were cruise ship passengers.

The government agency claims tourism activity delivered £43.3 million in exchequer benefit in 2025.

Visitor satisfaction was said to be ‘exceptionally high’ with 99.2 percent of visitors reporting they were satisfied or very satisfied with their experience.

The visitor data is based on a combination of Passenger Survey data, ‘true origin of departure’ data from the Steam Packet Company and purchased airline passenger data.

Visit Isle of Man Chief Executive Deborah Heather said: "These results demonstrate that the Isle of Man’s visitor economy continues to move from strength to strength.

"Welcoming more than 352,000 visitors is an achievement in itself but what is particularly encouraging is the increasing value tourism is generating for our Island and the exceptionally high levels of visitor satisfaction we continue to achieve.

"The 2025 Annual Visitor Economy Report provides an opportunity to reflect on how far we have come since launching ‘Our Island, Our Future’ and, importantly, will inform where we go next.

"It demonstrates the progress being made across our strategic priorities, shows how we are tracking against our 2032 ambitions and provides a clear roadmap for the next phase of delivery.

"What is particularly encouraging is that we are not simply growing visitor numbers; we are growing value.

"Average visitor spend has already exceeded the target originally set for 2032, accounting for inflation, visitor satisfaction has reached 99.2 percent, essentially a 10 out of 10 in net promoter score terms, and tourism is now worth more than £433 million to the wider economy.

"These are strong indicators that our long-term approach is creating lasting benefits for residents, businesses, communities and visitors alike."

The ten-year Visitor Economy Strategy: ‘Our Island, Our Future’ was approved by Tynwald in 2022.
