Falling prices make it cheaper for Manx Utilities to use power generated off-Island
The Isle of Man is currently importing around a tenth of its electricity due to falling prices in the UK.
Dr Alex Allinson MHK says in the region of 10% of the power needed is being brought in from across.
The Manx Utilities chairman also revealed smart metres and the installation of electric car charging points have both been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
