MHK expected to debate the topic in the next parliamentary sitting
A Douglas North MHK believes the Isle of Man needs to be 'self-sustainable' when it comes to energy.
David Ashford is proposing all political members debate the need for the Island to be energy self-sufficient in the next sitting of Tynwald.
He's highlighted a reliance on importing from the UK - who themselves are large importers - and questions whether there's security given recent global events.
