Manx dancers and musicians televised in Brittany
A delegation of Manx musicians, singers, dancers and artists have arrived in Brittany to take part in Europe’s largest annual Celtic gathering.
Festival Interceltique de Lorient started yesterday (Friday) with the event expected to attract around 800,000 visitors over the next 9 days.
Island performers include folk group Birlinn Jiarg, Mec Lir, dance group Ny Manninee and Manx artist Colette Gambell.
Some of the concerts featuring Manx dancers and musicians will be televised with the overall coverage expected to attract more than three million viewers.
There will also be a Manx pavilion selling Manx products, showcasing cultural and tourist information and presenting demonstrations of traditional crafts to the Island’s larger Celtic cousins.
