HoK could decide who will take top job today
The Isle of Man may get a new chief minister today (13 October).
It’s up to the House of Keys to decide whether Kirrie Jenkins or Chris Thomas will get the top job.
They’ve put themselves forward for the position - if either is selected they’ll replace Alfred Cannan.
The two MHKs will need the support of at least 13 members to be elected to the position.
If neither reach that number the Speaker of the House of Keys, David Ashford, may choose to adjourn before a second vote is taken.
If no candidate can achieve a majority the process can be opened up for fresh nominations.
John Moss has this report:
The House of Keys will sit from 10am.
