McLaughlan jailed for breaking Island's border restrictions
A man from Scotland who broke the Island's border restrictions by using a jet ski to cross the Irish Sea will be advised to go back to the UK once he's released from prison.
Twenty-eight-year-old Dale McLaughlan was jailed for four weeks after travelling to Ramsey from Scotland on the jet ski and walking to Douglas, before going to two busy nightclubs with his girlfriend.
The incident has been widely covered by international media outlets, and Chief Minister Howard Quayle hopes it serves as a reminder to others about the consequences of breaking the Island's laws.
