New 'Just the Job' website will launch later this month
Businesses on the Isle of Man are being encouraged to futureproof their workforce by employing younger people.
A new website – ‘Just the Job’ – is being launched to help those aged 14-25 find employment and to help companies bridge their skills gaps.
It’s being run by Junior Achievement Isle of Man and will advertise vacancies, offer a free CV builder and offer young people advice on how to start a business.
Research conducted by the educational charity, which reaches more than 5,500 children in primary and secondary schools on the Island, showed:
- Young people on the Island do not know what job opportunities are available to them or even where to start an application process.
- 75 percent of surveyed participants, who chose not to continue in education, felt more needed to be done to help them into the world of work.
- 80 percent said they wouldn't apply for a job unless they understood the job description.
