Bosses want to simplify services
Unemployed residents may soon be able to claim benefits and find work under the same roof.
It's been announced Treasury will take over government's Employment Services from the DED, as part of a restructure later this year.
Bosses hope the move will 'consolidate and simplify' operations.
The national unemployment rate dropped to just one per cent last month - its lowest in 13 years.
Currently, the Island's JobCentre facility is based on Prospect Hill, Douglas, while the Social Security Division operates nearby from Markwell House on Chester Street.
But the Treasury Minister, Alf Cannan, says convergence could be on the horizon:
