Reductions to be brought in on November 1
People on Jobseekers Allowance are going to have the money they receive cut from November, government has confirmed.
The move was agreed in principle by Tynwald in July.
Treasury claims the changes will provide 'further encouragement' to people to try and get a job.
The reductions are set to be incremental, starting with who have been signing on for more than six months, going up to a 40% cut for people who have been signing on for more than a year.
There will also be reductions for those on JSA who do not pay housing costs and to the allowances for people in part-time work.
