65-year-old appears at Douglas Courthouse
Committal proceedings against a Douglas taxi driver who’s accused of causing the death of a Douglas woman will take place in June.
65-year-old David Evans, of Tynwald Street, appeared at Douglas Courthouse via live link from the Isle of Man Prison.
He’s been charged with causing the death of 73-year-old Carolyn Buchan, by careless or inconsiderate driving on Marathon Avenue, on 20 March.
He’s also been accused of failing to stop at, or report, an accident on the same date and perverting the course of justice on or about 23 March.
No pleas have yet been entered.
There was no application for bail and Mr Evans was further remanded until the 26 May – committal to the Court of General Gaol Delivery is scheduled to take place on 9 June.
