Local authority says it's committed to ensuring due process is followed
A meeting to discuss the future of Jurby airfield will go ahead tonight, despite the proposals being removed from the draft area plan for the north and west.
Residents hit out after plans to zone land in Jurby for a potential future airport development the size of Liverpool John Lennon came to light during the recent public inquiry into the area plan.
After it was announced late last week that the proposals have now been removed from the area plan, Jurby Parish Commissioners says it is still intending to hold a discussion on the proposals as part of its monthly board meeting tonight.
The local authority says it's committed to making sure due process is followed, and that the Department of Infrastructure delivers on its promise to hold a public consultation on the airport masterplan in the autumn.
The meeting takes place in Jurby Parish Hall from 7pm.
