Ewes already giving birth on farms
A livestock sheep farmer is urging dog owners to keep their pets on a lead when on country walks, as lambing season gets underway.
Lambing, is when female sheep give birth unassisted out in the fields. It also doubles as one of the busiest times of the year for farmers.
Kirree Kermode from Ballasalla, says normally, lambing would take place between March and April, but more recently it's started as early as November, which is why she's calling for extra caution to be taken:
