New figures from the Energy Saving Trust in the UK provide insight into gadgets by means of a simple traffic light system - the greediest are red listed, moderate consumers of power are amber rated and the most frugal are green.
Washing machines, dishwashers and tumble dryers account for a whopping 14% of an average electricity bill whilst fridges and freezers are just behind at 13%.
Meanwhile, a 60-inch TV costs around twice as much to run as a 40 inch model.
And, if you're ready for a 'cuppa' remember not to overfill the kettle - if you do it'll cost you an extra £12 a year.
