Secrets from 1848 to be unveiled
A lecture on the life of a famous Manx polymath is taking place this evening.
Author Bob Stimpson will giving a talk about a newly discovered idea from celebrated historic figure William Kennish, unseen since 1848.
He's joined at the event by Kennish family descendant Roy Moore.
Mr Kennish was born in Maughold in 1799, and went on to lead an extraordinary life which saw him travel the globe, and most notably, design the foundations of the Statue of Liberty.
The William Kennish Memorial Trust are asking for donations towards plans for a grave stone - to be installed at the Manxman's final resting place in New York.
The lecture is free to attend.
It begins at 7.30pm at St. Paul's Church Hall, Ramsey.
