
Former President of Tynwald Noel Cringle says a backbencher was rightly expelled from a House of Keys sitting this week - as he failed to respect the Speaker's authority.
North Douglas MHK John Houghton accused Treasury Minister Eddie Teare of dishonesty in his answers at Question Time.
In a spat over the signing of a tax information exchange agreement, Mr Houghton said the minister was misleading people about the impact the deal would have on the Island's prosperity.
And he refused to withdraw the accusation when asked to by Speaker Steve Rodan, who subsequently ordered him out of the chamber.
