Move to end number of times MHKs can speak on an issue
A recommendation allowing for the House of Keys to pause legislative business and sit in a committee style format has been given the go-ahead by MHKs.
Arbory, Castletown and Malew member Graham Cregeen proposed the move - he says it gives members more time to discuss clauses and ideas in greater detail.
It would end restrictions on the number of times members can speak on an issue.
Peel and Glenfaba MHK, Geoffrey Boot, opposes the changes, and says his colleagues need to come prepared for parliamentary debate.
Mr Cregeen insists the change would make some issues clearer:

Immigration changes designed to stop exploitation by 'bad eggs'
Plantation wood, telegraph poles and Satnav to be discussed in the House of Keys
Contingency budget for horse tram tracks 'significantly increased'
MHK to seek re-election in Arbory, Castletown and Malew
