Pupils get real life taste of politics
There's a new opportunity for youngsters in the Michael community to try their hand in local politics.
Local authorities in the sheading have founded a 'young commissioners scheme', where students in Years 3 to 6 meet once a term for a meeting, mirroring the actual commissioners meetings.
They'll be considering an all manner of local issues, and will have real-life input into Kirk Michael's recreational areas.
A first for the Isle of Man, Michael Commissioners hope other local authorities will follow suit.
The authority's Vice Chairman, Carole Melaugh, says the children's ideas will be listened to:

Consultation open on plans to formally recognise the heritage of Douglas Head
Police dealing with 'serious incident' in Ramsey
Drop-in session to support Isle of Man charities
Fundraiser to keep St John Ambulance emergency fleet on the road
