Officers commended after Peel incident
Police are stressing knife crime is still very rare on the Island.
It's after a case in which a 41 year old man was found guilty for affray after he threatened an officer with a kitchen knife.
The jury heard how a 'drunk, irate and aggressive' John Blanchard brandished a five-and-a-half-inch blade towards Police officers, after they attended a domestic incident at his home in Peel last year.
The two officers have now been commended for their bravery
Sergeant Andy Reed says whilst such incidents are rare on the Island, officers have to be prepared for all eventualities . .
