Reason behind data has yet to be identified
The number of people on the Island arrested for being in possession of a knife doubled in 2017/18 compared to the previous 12 months - but then dropped significantly this year.
Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey gave details of the numbers to Tynwald this morning, in response to a question from Arbory, Malew and Castletown MHK, Jason Moorhouse.
Mr Malarkey said no specific reason had been identified yet as to why numbers varied so significantly over the last two years.
