'The Street With Many Steps' has a new owner
A painting by world-renowned artist L.S. Lowry has sold at an Isle of Man auction for £350,000.
The work, titled 'The Street With Many Steps (Crowther Street)', went under the hammer at The Nunnery in Douglas this afternoon.
Chrystals Auctions thought the painting would reach somewhere between £500,000 - £700,000.
It was previously owned by a Manx woman who bought the work for £21,500 in 1980, and kept at her home in Laxey ever since.
The painting was put up for auction following her death.
