The lab processing Coronavirus swabs on the Island is dealing with up to 1,000 tests per day - despite only being funded for 200.
The figures were revealed in a Manx Care board meeting streamed on Facebook today (27 July).
The lab processes the PCR samples taken by swabbers at the Grandstand testing centre.
Director of operations Oliver Radford hopes the uptake of lateral flow testing will take some of the pressure off the pathology department:
