Little suggestion rise in minimum wage a worry, says Allinson
The Island's treasury minister says there's been little concern from businesses in regards to a planned £1.25 rise in the minimum wage.
Government announced the suggested increase from £9.50 to £10.75 last week - with the recommendation going before Tynwald next month.
The minimum wage committee, which suggested a lower increase, took feedback from businesses that a rise to £11 would 'jeopardise their ability to trade'.
But Dr Alex Allinson says a more pressing concern, asides from meeting wage demands, is the lack of labour:
