40-year-old 'ignored' requests following motorbike crash
A landscaping company team leader has appeared in court charged with ignoring health and safety officials who wanted to quiz him about a road traffic accident.
Forty-year-old Benjamin Hughes, of Glencrutchery Road in Douglas, appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
He’s pleaded not guilty to contravening a health and safety inspector’s requirement.
Prosecution advocate Hazel Caroon told the court Mr Hughes worked for Roots to Shoots which is based in Colby.
Mr Hughes was said to be carrying out work in Glen Helen at the side of the TT course on 3 June.
After a motorbike crashed into the back of a work vehicle health and safety inspectors are said to have asked him to make a statement about warning signs on the road.
However he’s alleged to have ignored their requests.
Mrs Hughes bailed him and he’s next due to appear on 7 January.
