Strict deadline for firearms holders to apply
There are only a few days left for firearms holders in the Island to apply for the renewal of their licence.
Existing licence holders must submit their triennial applications by Friday 31 March in order to comply with the law and receive their certificates.
Police say anyone who applies after this date, or who fails to submit an application, will be in unlawful possession of a firearm.
They will then have to take their weapons to an authorised firearms dealer and notify police of this, or take them directly to a police station for surrender.
Failure to do this will leave the holder of the owner of the firearm liable for prosecution.
