First weather-related postponement in nine years
The Great Laxey Brass Band Festival has been postponed due to poor weather.
It was due to take place this afternoon (3 May).
Organisers say they will liaise with the bands set to take part and a new date will be announced.
It’s the festival’s first weather-related postponement in nine years.
In a statement organisers said: "A huge thank you to everyone who has worked so hard in planning the event thus far, especially all our volunteers, contributors, and partners.
"We truly appreciate your patience and understanding.
"We look forward to bringing you a fantastic festival later in the year in the kind of weather environment the event has become accustomed to!"
