New statue for Laxey unveiled
A major chapter of Manx history will be commemorated in Laxey this weekend.
Dedicated to the workers in the Great Laxey Mine, the statue of a miner will be officially unveiled on Saturday (23 May).
The work has been carried out by Balinese stone artist Ongky Wijana was fully funded by the estate of Laxey woman Phillis Tate.
