She was the first woman to join the Royal Academy in 1922

There's a chance to find out about the first woman to join the Royal Academy at the Manx Museum today (Saturday 22 November).

The most exclusive society in British art, it was a male-only club until 1922 when Annie Swynnerton was elected to join.

Today's lecture will explore her work as a painter and campaigner for women's rights.

The free event starts at 2.30pm.
