MHK weighs in after DfE takes on Basingstoke massage company
An MHK and former Enterprise Minister says certain measures being taken to protect the TT brand are going too far.
It comes after the Department for Enterprise took legal action against a massage and wellness company in Basingstoke known as 'Target Therapies' for using the letters 'TT'.
Despite the objection, the UK company has secured trademark rights to use its name and logo - but its use of ‘TT’ will be limited to only its charitable fundraising activities.
Ramsey member Lawrie Hooper argues the Isle of Man needs to 'pick its battles' over this issue:
In response to the legal action, the Department for Enterprise says it takes 'extremely seriously' its responsibility to protect the trademarks and intellectual property of the Isle of Man TT Races.
