Delaney underwhelmed by planned reform
A former politician has likened the pace of reform in the Legislative Council to that of 'a slug'.
The House of Keys has recently approved a change to the way members in the upper chamber are elected, ending the tradition of secret ballots.
Dominic Delaney, who's served as both an MHK and MLC, said he welcomed the change - but felt it didn't amount to much in the grand scheme of things.
Mr Delaney says the Legislative Council was historically a way of curtailing democracy in the Isle of Man at the dawn of universal suffrage.
